As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services, to back-end Java based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data.
You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as:
Java, Spring, Angular, Python, HTML, CSS, SQL, Chef, Maven, iOS, Android, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure to name a few.
What You'll Do:
This unique role requires close collaboration and teamwork with product owners, business leaders, operations team members as well as business analysts/data scientists to solve emerging business problems, guide team members to update existing applications, and research innovation in business processes and tools.
Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions, ensuring applications are well-managed from all angles.
Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity - Lead and/or mentor a team of engineersProvide active mentorship/guidance and people management to fellow members of the agile tech team and participate in internal and external technology conferences & communities.

Technologies include Java/SpringBoot and SpringBatch, Angular, Oracle, Postgresql, CI/CD, Cloud Engineering.
The scope of this role will cover legacy monolithic applications as well as transitioning to event driven architecture.
This role will also provide opportunities to solve business processes and problems using machine learning.
This role is an informal leadership role and will require you to guide more junior team members, as well.
